Stand Up

With all the media attention that's been on the owner of Chic Fil'A, I have really taken some time to think about what I would have done if I were in his position. First of all, he was interviewed and in the interview, he was asked what his views were on gay marraige. He frankly said that he personally didn't believe in it because he is a God fearing man, and basically would never want to show God how marraige should be.
Anyway, he has been completely slammed for his comment and it had caused quite an uproar.

Without wanting to offend anyone, I will try and explain my feelings on the whole thing, for whatever its worth. ;)

I was raised with the confidence to be able to stand up for what I believed in. My mom did an incredible job in giving me courage to be able to do what I felt to be right, even if everyone around me thought it was stupid. I really hope that I can my raise my kids in the same light. My only fear is that they won't be able to speak their mind about anything! With the way our world is reacting over one simple man making one humble comment about his deep rooted beliefs, it makes me really sad for the times we live in. I just think that no matter what it is you believe, if you truly feel deeply about it and have strong conviction, then you should be able to stand up for those beliefs! People need to remember that this is a FREE country and we should be able to stand up for what we believe in, without all the anger and criticism. I feel like I am a very accepting person of all types, but it would be nice to feel that acceptance for those of us on the other side.

Hopefully, we can all remember to just share the love!! That's what its all about!
