When it rains....it pours! Boy, did we get our first married dose of this reality today! From the moment we woke up, we literally had almost non stop bad news. No joke. Mostly the bad news was some phone call that "politely informed" us of a new payment we needed to make or some new monthly fee we didn't know about! Our biggest financial kicker today happened totally unexpectedly. Me and my wonderful husband Ryan both had the day off! (Which, if you know our schedules, is pretty miraculous.) So, we thought we would take his beautiful car in to get an oil change to pass safety and emissions. Simple enough right? Oh no no no no! Three hours and 914 dollars later, we left the dealership feeling pretty stressed. We talked about what we would need to do to pay this and even discussed selling my hair as an option. ;) Believe me, it would take a lot more than new tires to get me to do something crazy like that! Anyway, we talked, and we sat, and we thought, and we looked at each other and guess what we did? We LAUGHED! I mean, honestly. What else in that moment was there to do? Get stressed out of our minds and frazzled beyond belief? (No, because we already stupidly reacted like that earlier on in the day, with our first round of bad news....no need to repeat it!) So, looking back on this potentially devastating day, we have learned a valuable lesson, or I guess, have been reminded in a big way of something extremely important. Faith. We know that we had all of this dumped on us today, not because everyone just ironically happened to call us with bad news, but because the Lord in His wonderful wisdom is helping us grow. We are so thankful for these important life lessons, even though sometimes when you're in the moment, you don't know how you might get out of it. But, even if the only way through it is to laugh, at least you got through it right? Like it says in Proverbs: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."
Oh, what a day! :)
Oh what a day! So sorry to hear it but glad you were able to laugh TOGETHER about it! It will work out- eventually! Sorry you got so much bad in one day- must mean something AMAZING is just around the corner!
